CLEANING REQUIREMENTS back to the top ^Regular cleaning with a soft, damp cloth if required, with a standard household detergent added to the water. Stubborn marks may be gently removed with a diluted mild household bathroom cream cleaner. Graffiti can be removed with a solvent based cleaner, such as acetone or cellulose spirit. Refer to the maunfacturer's instructions and guidelines on product use. Be careful not to allow excess liquid on to the edging strips. Extra care should be employed when cleaning gloss surfaces. Do not use scouring cleaners or pads as these will scratch the laminate. It is inadvisable to use polish on the laminate facings as streaking will occur. Although this is not harmful to the product, it will look unsightly. Do not allow direct flame to contact the laminate as this will cause scorch marks, blistering and delamination.
MAINTENANCE back to the top ^No regular maintenance is required. Operation of the hinges and locks will benefit from occasional lubrication with a light machine or aerosol oil, taking care to remove excess liquid. Follow the maufacturer's instructions for the usage of oil and oil based products. Periodic checks for security of fixings, bolts, hinges and channel brackets are recommended. No special tools are required unless optional security fixings have been specified e.g. Torx screws.
REMOVAL OF ACCESS PANELS back to the top ^These panels are installed with secret-fix lift-off clips, and care should be taken when removing for access. Safe removal is best achieved with the use of a glazier's suction tool, and on no account should objects be forced under the panels as damage will occur. It should be realised that these panels will be heavy and care should be taken in their handling to prevent injury to personnel. To replace the panels simply offer into place and slide down onto the clips. A positive click will indicate that the panel has been correctly refitted. Check visually for squareness of location. If optional key-operated locks are fitted, unlock and lock as required and remove the key to normal storage.
HANDLING back to the top ^Care should be taken when handling to avoid dropping the panels as edge and corner damage may occur.
ADAPTATION AND DEMOLITION back to the top ^The materials supplied to a project are manufactured on a bespoke basis. In the event that modifications are required, it is advisable for a Delta Laminates technical representative to be called to site to evaluate the situation. An initial visit and report is provided free of charge. If the materials are no longer required, normal site procedures for joinery/shop fitting removal should be employed. As a finished product these materials are not presently considered a health hazard and may be disposed of with normal builders' rubbish. It should be noted that there is now a greater concern about the disposal of waste, and you should consult your local authority for guidance. Protective clothing should be worn during demolition.
HEALTH AND SAFETY back to the top ^These products are heavy, therefore safe lifting techniques should always be employed and protective footwear worn.
DESIGN LIFE back to the top ^Delta Laminates products are manufactured from hard wearing materials. When correctly installed, these products have an indefinite life. Durability will depend on the level of maintenance they receive and on them not being subjected to abuse and mistreatment. A twelve month warranty is provided to cover defects arising in manufacturing faults or installation error by Delta Laminates personnel. |
