Bickerstaffe House is the new 125,000 sq ft development which forms Blackpool Council’s new civic offices, as part of the Talbot Gateway Development. This is the first phase of a major mixed-use regeneration scheme in the heart of Blackpool town centre. Set over 5 floors, the building is BCO (British Council for Offices) compliant and has achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC ‘A’ ratings.
Blackpool council occupy 3 floors of this modern, efficient, green office accommodation. The first phase also included a Sainsbury’s supermarket and car park. Such is the quality of the development, it has already walked away with numerous awards including the 2014 Energy Efficient Building of the Year Award, the 2014 Insider North West Property Awards and the 2015 Civic Trust Awards.
Inside the building, Delta Laminates has been instrumental is providing striking facilities for staff and visitors alike. As visitors enter the building they immediately see a stunning reception area that features bespoke solid surface wall and ceiling cladding, which also has integrated lighting. This is set around a solid surface reception and security desk also manufactured by Delta Laminates.
Washroom facilities feature Impact Highline cubicles manufactured from highly durable solid grade laminate, APS duct wall panel system to conceal services, plus solid surface vanity units. All are supplied in cool, contemporary colours. This is supplemented in staff changing areas by matching lockers. In the office areas, tea points provide a welcoming and hygienic area for staff to prepare drinks during breaks.
